HELP, my dog is having SEIZURES???

Caleb is 5 yrs old goig on six, and has had seaizures since he was 3 mos old when I rescued him. Without expesive bloodwork which I have not had the funds for. I cannot find out what kind they are. Has anyone ever seen a dog seizure like this. They last for about 1-2 mintes which seems like forever. He seems to be somewhat alert yet confused as his head shakes from side to sied. We don't know if he had head trauma before I got him form ths shelter, or if this is a gentic disorder, stress, etc.
Please if you have ever seen this type, let me know what you know about them
He does not lose control of bowels like some dogs or anything like that, just head shakes and he cannot stop it.

Our dog would fall down on her side and run in place the first one lasted 1 minute the next weeks later 6 minutes she died the next day at vets had to do with circulatory prob. start a chip in post an addy ill donate to you val h valloveslarry@aol.com 719-564-7049 call me or something ok>

He might have a thyroid disorder because my dog is on Soloxine because he has a abnormally low thyroid.
He has seizures just like that but now that he is on his meds he has a couple of seizures a year that i notice.
When he has them i lay him down and cradle his head and whisper softly to him until it disappears. And he can hear me and is happy when i am holding him. He will be on the meds the rest of his life.
My meds cost about $38.00 and they last for about 2 or 3 months. They are little purple colored pills that i put in his food and treats twice a day.
I hope this sheds some light maybe.
